recent update alert.

speaking of updates, i’ve been pondering a bit on web design as of recent. it seems that the way all the cool kids are going is php. hm… well, since i do not have a personal site with php capability, i have no way to experiment with this fascinating yet confusing and diabolical medium. then again, that’s not entirely a complaint. don’t expect a major redesign here any time soon. blogger, as nice as it can be, is a little restrictive. but hey, it’s free, so what ya gonna do?

my brain’s basically checked out, so this is essentially pointless jabber. i have no current ambition to do something amazing nor do i feel like discussing any current events of importance. i must confess, however, that i’ve not paid much attention the last several days. that’s a slight problem, but when you take into account the amount of deciphering needed to make sense of a lot of these modern reports you can see one of my reasons for taking some mental time off.

i keep telling myself that i’d like to get back into the writing deal, but i tell myself a lot of things. in the end, it’s another note on the to-do list that has now grown to the size of prince edward island. go allusions to random provinces!

and that scene from the empire strikes back is still one of my all-time favorites, in case you want some more random thoughts.

yeah, whatever happened to shoegaze? it just up and died, eh? today i listened to the majority of Radiohead’s debut album “Pablo Honey,” and it struck me how there were some elements similar to the major movement in Britain at that moment; which was shoegaze. putting that album up next to The Catherine Wheel’s “Ferment,” which was released within a year of it. i’m not accusing anyone of being a copycat, but it makes sense now why i enjoy both albums; but “Ferment” a bit more.

this week’s House is a repeat. a decent repeat, but a repeat. that’s all i really have to say on the subject.

i was feeling rather down and out today until i soaked in “Kid A” and some VNV Nation. Solitary is a freaking masterpiece. now DANCE! it’s not called Techno Robot Pudding as a joke, folks.

last exam tomorrow morning at…ugh… 8! i’m going to kill shakespeare next time i see him, i swear. but hey, if i pull this off i can rest easy. how many times have i said that before…

then again, in the words of Oasis; it’s getting better, man!

some day i will write something more meaningful here. perhaps turn it into a political discussion blog or a sounding board for the bajillion visitors (heh…heh…). until then, it will remain my asinine garbage heap. look at all the flies. some might say i’m the lord of the flies, but do you see my head on a pike? nope. i got crushed by a boulder.
