all gone wrong
something’s amiss. i’m actually quite frightened by it all. i know i haven’t eaten anything unusual or engaged in any activity which was that reckless. my temperature’s normal. i don’t have any boils popping up on my back. go figure.
so what’s the ailment? apparently, i feel like doing academic work. in fact, not only do i feel like doing it, but i’m in the process of getting it done in preparation for class. yes bobby, it’s the end of the world.
on a slightly different front, i’m applying for an internship. time to cross my fingers, spin around seven times, and don that four-leaf clover underwear. for once, my “experience” might get me somewhere. i’m hoping (if i make it) to be assigned to either work on live sound or postproduction. rock.
i recently got to listen to the version of MGB’s Pony Boy that was cut from The Audio of Being. fucking awesome song.
today is day 3, have a great day west.
revelations
it had occured to me that in all the time i’ve been writing this blog, i’ve refrained from giving that much biographical information. this was probably a relief to the casual readers who perused my musings looking for opinions, but a concern to the salivating web stalkers who want to hunt me down for scientific experimentation. so here’s some self-serving babbling.
i was supposedly born during a blizzard, or hospitalized early in my life during one. i used to play the harmonica with my grandfather from the age of 2 to about 4. i think i may be allergic to potato salad. my favorite number is 24, followed by 4, 8, 10 and some combinations of which. my favorite actor is sean connery, followed by harrison ford. i enjoy making people laugh. i would try stand-up comedy, but i don’t think i’d be able to come up with any decent material; or at least remember it. reality tv has become really annoying. the first radio station i listened to played “oldies.” i used to write and draw stories from about 4 to about 8. i first started writing short stories at 7. i enjoy canadian rock. i’m beginning to appreciate some forms of techno. i don’t know why i find disjointed writing to be interesting, but it is. absurdity and randomness are always welcome surprises when well-timed. i’ve often suffered periods of unreasonable gloom. i’ve sometimes had periods of awkward giddiness. for a brief time i abused sleep medication. i find the flawed people to be the most interesting. i believe in a God, but i don’t agree with the way certain religions pursue communicating with it. i see God as more of an omnipotent essence than a shaped person in the sky. i find righteousness and truth to be very honerable, and fear to be fascinating. i think extraterrestrial life is very possible, and it’s presence or interaction in ancient times interesting but theoretical. i’m almost driven to tears by the beauty of my grandmother’s singing. one of these days, i will become a classical afficianado. maybe when i have time. i enjoy arranging percussion. i had a drum set briefly when i was very little. i’ve wanted to create television shows since i was about 6. it’s interesting to stray from the real topic. i’d like to master the tongues of my ancestors, focusing on three of them in particular. i used to play soccer for three years. i was cocky. i enjoyed playing defense. i was one of the few 8-10 year olds who slide tackled efficiently. i never scored a goal or played goalkeeper. i enjoy outrunning people. i enjoy outwitting people. i think celebrities should be left alone. the supernatural intrigues me. string theory also intrigues me. i sometimes talk too much.
also, techno robot pudding was originally the subject line of an email between a friend and i.
day one
yeah, one class so far; but full of opportunities and promises of actual useful material! shocker!
tomorrow begins the onslaught of the remainder of the academic sillies. surely i cannot wait.

it’s coming up to that time of year again. return to drudgery! and… this is gonna suck.
public service announcement: anyone who allows comments on their blog (on blogger) should turn on word verification. very cool!
the new album by the Trews is decent. worth a pickup, i guess. also, broken social scene is coming out with a new album. snag a free track from it here. yes, it’s 100% legal and approved by BSS. yes, BSS is freakin’ sweet.
